UWC MAN STABS CPUT STUDENT.


26-year-old Ntembeko Myalo and his wife, 30 years of age before the tragic incident.

A student in the University of the Western Cape has been arrested for stabbing his wife at a student accommodation in Belhar, Cape Town.

The attacker, Ntembeko Myalo, 26 years of age is a student at the University of the Western Cape (UWC), while the 30-year-old victim is a student at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT).

According to reports, the students are married but were separated due to the attacker allegedly raping someone, when the wife discovered this, she no longer wanted to be with him, the attacker then discovered that the wife went on a date with another man which led to him going to the wife's residence and can be seen holding a knife stabbing her 20times and three students trying to intervene in a circulating video on the internet.

The CPUT student was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was transferred to Tygerberg Hospital for emergency care due to sustained injuries.


South Point's response on the tragic incident that occured in their residence.

The University as well as the South Point Resident have confirmed the incident and have provided all necessary assistance to all the students affected by this horrific incident. 'We are deeply saddened to inform you of a distressing incident that occurred at The Orchard in the early hours of today, where a female resident was grievously harmed by a visitor. The victim is currently receiving medical attention for her injuries. We have reported this incident to the South African Police Service (SAPS), and the alleged perpetrator is now in police custody. We emphasize that this is a legal matter, and it is essential to allow the legal process to proceed without interference or speculation. We support SAPS's investigation and urge everyone, especially residents of The Orchard and beyond, to respect the privacy of those involved and let law enforcement do their work. For those in need of counselling, please provide your details to your RSA for further assistance. We urge everyone to handle this matter with the utmost sensitivity, respecting the privacy and mental well-being of the victim. Regular updates will be provided as the situation evolves. The alleged perpetrator was arrested and is expected to appear in count next week.
