A western Cape police official resending in Samora Machel, one of Cape Town's townships shot and killed a child and his girlfriend in the late hours of Wednesday, 11 April 2024.
The alleged reason behind the horrific incident was that he recently found out the 2-year-old boy he thought was his with the girlfriend was actually not his, he then decided to shoot the child, girlfriend and the girlfriend's sister before turning the gun on himself.
The girlfriend's sister was rushed to hospital and is in a critical condition. While the girlfriend, child and the police officer died on the scene.
it is alleged that the officer called some of his co-worker minutes before he committed this horrific act, the colleagues came out in numbers rushing to intervene and upon police arrival with multiple police vans, it was already too late.
In a circulating Tick tock video, clips of police officers gathered on the scene can be witnessed with one of the local residents commenting and giving updated on the matter in the background.
The Western Cape Police service has not released any statement and investigations are on-going.
