Health activists call on government for TB to be declared national crisis.

As we celebrate world Tuberculosis (TB) day, the health activists took their thoughts to the street by marching to the department of health in Pretoria on Wednesday to plead with the government to declare TB as a national health crisis.

Hundreds of activists including organisation of the TB Accountability Consortium and the treatment Action Campaign joined together to protest for the treatment of TB to be prioritised. Though, TB is treatable, according to the Worl Health Organisation, it continues to claim thousands of lives each year, and in 2022 alone, the disease claimed over 50 000 lives.
