Come explore Roeland Street with me!

Roeland Square on Roeland Street

Cape Town is known for its commercial and historical importance. As I explored Roeland Street, I learnt that the street is home to separate commercial buildings and housing a variety of businesses, including an architect, casting his agency, and a popular coffee shop/deli. It is also close to the MyCiti bus line, the train station, the Houses of Parliament and the Company Gardens. Historically, Roeland Street was the site of the Roeland Street Jail, but it was demolished decades ago to make way for the Western Cape State Archives and Records Service. In addition, the Roeland Street Building serves as the administration and research centre for the Computer Science and Design Department of the Cape Peninsula Institute of Technology.

Roeland street is also a home to Roeland Square, which is a mixed-use building situated in Cape Town, South Africa's East City commercial district. It is also one of the buildings which are rich in history because it was built around 1996 and consists of residences, retail space, and office suites. Apartments with free Wi-Fi, ac, and other luxuries can be rented at Roeland Square. Additionally, it has ground-floor retail space with access to Buiten Racht Street. Popular destinations including Saint Georges Mall and Long Street are close to Roeland Square.
